Overview

The MEPA Kindergarten Program focuses on play-based learning to build early literacy, basic numeracy, independence, and manners in a warm, safe, and fun environment.

Learning Approach

  • Play-based learning: structured play that fosters curiosity.

  • Whole child: cognitive, social–emotional, motor skills, language, spiritual.

  • Routine & good habits: greetings, queuing, tidying up, sharing, brief reflection.

Key Achievements

  • Language & Literacy: phonemics (recognizing sounds), vocabulary, pre-writing, listening to stories.

  • Early Mathematics: counting 1–20, shapes & patterns, comparison (more/less).

  • Science & Exploration: senses, plants, weather, simple experiments.

  • Art & Creativity: music, movement, coloring, collage, role-playing.

  • Character & Spiritual: daily prayer, manners, empathy, sharing.

Sample Daily Schedule

Entry & morning prayer → circle time → play centers → snack → thematic activities → outdoor play → literacy/storytelling → closing & reflection.

Assessment

Daily observation, children’s work portfolios, and quarterly progress reports discussed with parents.

Parent Partnership

  • Routine communication via communication book/official WA.

  • Parent workshop (early literacy, positive discipline).

  • Home activity sessions: simple play ideas at home.

Facilities

Child-friendly classrooms, indoor/outdoor play areas, reading corner, fine–gross motor skill tools, School Clinic (UKS), and worship room.

Readiness & Requirements

  • Age 4–6 years, basic toilet training, able to follow simple instructions.

  • Documents: Family Card (KK), Birth Certificate, Parent ID (KTP), health certificate (if requested).

  • Is there homework? Light and in the form of play activities.

  • Can students bring gadgets? Not for classroom activities; gadget policy follows school rules.

  • Food/drink? Provided according to schedule; allergy info is noted at the beginning.
